Perforated Eardrum in Alexandria, VA

This can result from an episode of Acute Otitis Media or due to mechanical trauma to the eardrum such as, inadvertent injury with a Q-tip or other foreign objects inserted into the ear canal. Most perforations heal spontaneously within several days. Persistent perforations require via an office-based procedure such as placement of a paper patch. Large perforations often require surgical repair under general anesthesia, a procedure known as tympanoplasty.
